Class Styles

Hatha Star*
*Hatha Star focuses on the foundations of the practice and the mechanics of the postures in classes that are appropriate and welcoming to beginners, but can also be helpful to experienced yogis seeking attention to detail in practice.

Hatha Yin
A slower, quieter practice that focuses on creating flexibility in the joints and connective tissue, encouraging more ease in the body and an improved flow of prana / chi. This style of yoga asks us to take passive poses for longer periods of time to train our bodies and minds to slow down, listen and be more present.

Hatha Flow

Hatha Flow synchronizes movement and breath to produce a flow of postures that lead naturally from one to the next. Expect to move continuously through about a third of the class. Students should understand that the classroom is not cooled (73-78 degrees) and that the physical practice can naturally build heat in the body. Familiarity with the basics of hatha yoga is required.

Vinyasa uses vigorous flows of postures to warm the body, focus the mind, increase flexibility and build strength and stamina. Classes are taught in a warm room (78-84 degrees), and students should expect to move continuously throughout the majority of the class. Familiarity with Hatha and the basics of Hatha Flow is required.
